Vogue Knitting Fall 2010 Review

Every season I look forward to the shiny and crisp pages of knitting publications. Some arrive as subscriptions conveniently to my mailbox, others are acquired at the market or while scoring an iced caffeinated treat. Vogue Knitting is a magazine I pick up quarterly, though after the last three installments I’ve been seriously thinking of [...]

Rounding Out the Summer…

We spent a few days away on Cape Cod enjoying our annual family vacation. Peanut spent every moment he could in the water!
It’s hard to imagine that it’s been four years of visiting this beach. Here are Peanut and I when he was only 3 months old.
We had a wonderful time visiting the beach every [...]

Summer Days…

The summer is already drawing to a close. The other night the temperature hit 45* and boy was it a wonderful night for sleeping! Sean’s delivery schedule is heating up and the stores are already full of back to school goodies. I love this time of year. The idea of a fresh start, new notebooks, [...]

“Laughing through my tears…”

We’ve had a very busy week. Our best friends came into town. They’re Ladybugs Godparents so we had a lot to do in preperation of the big day.

There were trips for coffee, and BBQ supplies. Runs for yarn, book signings, wine and more yarn.

The evenings were filled with laughter, fun and MJ having the perfect [...]

Today…

May have been the most beautiful day of the entire summer!
Peanut was in the pool, Ladybug was keeping me company by the table. The weather was stunning. Hope you had a great day too!

A Wise Woman Once Told Me…

To never set down your knitting in the middle of a row, unless your hair was on fire. (We miss you Pam <3) Lordy, do I wish I’d listened. We’ve been so busy that it feels like I committed the terrible sin Pam always warned me about. I feel like I’ve been running in place [...]

Make a Wish…

Please visit my friend Lynn’s blog. She and her team are participating in a triathalon to benifit the Make a Wish Foundation. I’ve donated my $5 in hopes of winning a sweet prize (Hand spun yarn, hand dyed yarn, etc) and donated a custom skein of yarn to the prize pool as well. Won’t you [...]

Happy Birthday America!

I hope you all have a wonderful, safe and festive holiday weekend! God Bless the U.S.A.!

I know I said I’d never…

I know I said I would never, ever, under any circumstances purchase a fleece that needed to be processed. I am aware that I have said it and at the time, I meant it. But today, I saw this. Kristin Nicholas, a friend and local knit designer had her annual sheering and is planning a [...]
