Foodie Friday

Last week my paternal grandfather and our entire family celebrated his eightieth birthday.
We celebrated with clan members from near and far.
Everyone brought a dish to share, as is customary for our family. This means there was enough food to feed an army.
You will notice that there are no photos of food. I regret this, though [...]

Summer Days…

The summer is already drawing to a close. The other night the temperature hit 45* and boy was it a wonderful night for sleeping! Sean’s delivery schedule is heating up and the stores are already full of back to school goodies. I love this time of year. The idea of a fresh start, new notebooks, [...]

Today…

May have been the most beautiful day of the entire summer!
Peanut was in the pool, Ladybug was keeping me company by the table. The weather was stunning. Hope you had a great day too!

Last Night…

Both our children slept until 7:50 am this morning. It was amazing!
And, I finally made it to the heel of Tidal Wave sock #2!
A pretty great day!

Ma Dukes…

My mom is a sock knitting machine. She and her knitting group knit Power Socks for cancer patients as well as knitting them for sale locally to benefit the Relay for Life. The past few months she snuck in a few pairs for me as well.
My mom chose this pattern from Sensational Knitted Socks and [...]

The One Where I Die of Heat Stroke…

It’s only May 24th and it already feels like late July! Living in the northeast, I thought, would give us a few more weeks of blissful 70* days. Today it is easily 90* and I have the A.C. pumping in my office as well as a large lemon iced water from Panera (they have very [...]

Birds in Flight

I finally finished my Blue Bird Socks. I gifted them to my co-worker Amy. She’s a really sweet person and the colors match those of her alma mater. She has reunion coming up and was super excited to be able to wear them. I taugh Amy to knit a few months back so she appreciates [...]
