This year you began kindergarten. You are learning to read, to write and to do simple math. You are learning to control your body and your emotions. You have come so very far this year, adjusting to all of the changes and all of the challenges. You have gone from a full IEP to reduced services and we are so very, very proud of all you have accomplished.

You are growing like a weed! You are so tall, that everyone easily thinks you are 8, rather than newly 6. Your baby sister thinks the world of you. You are a wonderful role model, friend and playmate. I am so pleased that you are, indeed, best friends.

I am so thankful for you. You are kind, energetic and thoughtful. You are passionate, excited and intelligent. You are curious, especially when it comes to science, and we are so excited to share this passion with you.

Thank you for being a wonderful, loving, little man. And thank you for letting me be your momma. I love you.

As 2011 draws to a close I’d like to formally announce my participation in the 2012 Susan G. Koman 3-Day Walk for the Cure. I will be walking in Boston, Massachusetts on July 27th, 28th and 29th. Our team Knitters for Knockers currently consists of myself and my wonderful friend Bryn. We would LOVE to have you join us! Please write a comment if you’d like more information!

As part of my responsibilities as a walker in this amazing event I am required to fund raise a minimum of $2,300. Would you consider a donation?As always with non-profit organizations your donation is tax deductible, and you would be able to file it with your 2011 tax documents. The website donation page has very easy instructions on how to print your receipt.

And because we’re a team of knitters, and we LOVE to GIVE, I’d like to enter your name into a Thank You Drawing. This year I had my own scare and was luckily only put under watch. My Kindergarten teacher Mrs. Morse was not so lucky. She lost her battle with breast cancer only two short days ago. She was an amazing woman and I will miss her terribly. Thank you for your support. <3

Whatcha Reading Wednesday

This year Sean gifted me a Kindle Fire for Christmas. I was very thankful and excited, though it also felt more than a little indulgent. I already own a Kindle, it was a gift when we had our daughter Ladybug a year and a half ago. I used that Kindle often, however it was only for reading. Recently my phone has not being operating as it should, especially my apps like Words With Friends. Sean saw this as an opportunity to purchase a tablet type reader that I could use for my love of reading, as well as bring it on the road for my work travel, use it to keep up with my knitting friends, and use it for the podcast as well.

The Hunger Games

I decided to try The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins. I downloaded the book on Christmas Day and started reading it here and there. I had spinning and knitting I wanted to accomplish so I didn’t really delve in until Tuesday. At 11:36 pm I was finished with the book and downloading the second in the series entitled Catching Fire. I could not put the book down. I really enjoyed it!

In an effort to get back into the grove, to get organized and to feel as though my head is above water I have signed-up for the 52 Week Organized House Challenge.

I feel that this will be both purposeful and cathartic. Give the cite a view, it is very simple tasks that week after week will teach you and your family how to keep onto of things. Won’t you join us?
