I’ll admit it. It was down to the wire.
I had 36 hours, a skein of Malabrigo Rasta, and a set of US 15 circular needles. It was the bottom of the 9th, 2 outs. (BTW - 46 days, 7 hours, 56 minutes, 24 seconds until Red Sox pitchers and catchers report. Just saying.)
I had precious little time to dedicate to this second to last Christmas gift, but I knew that Ms. Julia deserved the comfort that only a hand knit cowl can give.
I knit the last 5 rows, cast-off, placed it and a dark chocolate orange from Trader Joe’s into a gift bag and off it went with Peanut to school (After a few quick glamor shots).
I am now living with the constant itch to purchase 27 more skeins to knit this easy, fun and pretty pattern. It’s never to early to knit for Christmas 2011!
FYI - The Pedestrian Crossing Cowl has had some revisions. Please check to see that you have to most up to date download (12/29/10 as of 11 pm EST). The changes were to pages one and two, so feel free to print only those pages. I am working on an in-the-tound version. Will keep you updated.

This is gorgeous…it reminds me of the Christmas my cousin got this beautiful, chunky, hand knit scarf from her grandmother (my great aunt), and I got something a lot less cool.
Yay!
