Peanut is now a Little Man

Five years ago today we embarked on a new journey, the journey of parenthood. Our very first baby arrived after 6 weeks of bed rest and a fall down our new condo stairs (Leaving me with a broken tailbone and a shattered left hand that would require reconstructive surgery 5 days after Peanut arrived).

Our little Peanut was a beautiful baby. He learned to sleep through the night early, loved to nurse and take bottles and especially enjoyed time in his bouncie chair.

He was always exploring his environment and loved meeting new people…

I had the honor to stay home with Peanut for two wonderful years.

We spent time with our play group and played at parks, went to sing-alongs and to the library…

He loved this play structure…

Peanut always helped me knit…

And had ALWAYS loved goofing around with Daddy…

And was a wonderful model for my finished objects…

He enjoyed going to football games…

And spending time with so many people who love him…

And some that have left us…

And going on long trips…

And making discoveries…

And continued to grow, eventually going to pre-school…

Learned how to ride his big boy bike…

And root for the home team…

Last year Peanut became a Big Brother and made us so proud.

He is always so careful, so kind and so loving to his baby sister.

This year Peanut grew 3 1/2 inches…

He showed his beautiful personality, especially his funny side…

And this year we’ve worked so very hard to help him focus.

Matt, you’ve done so well and have come so very far since September…

And I am so thankful for your patience and understanding as we learn how best to help you learn, and grow…

It feels like only yesterday you were this small…

2 Months...

2 Months...

I’m not really sure where the time has gone…

I know Daddy is shocked at how fast it has passed…

You were so very tiny. Our little Peanut…

It seems only natural that we move on from Peanut to something more… Grown up?

I think it’s now time for you to be called our little man…

Please know though, that no matter what, you will always be my Peanut.

We love you! Happy 5th Birthday Little Man. <3
